Adam's peak

Adam's Peak, or Sri Pada, is a 2,243-meter tall mountain in central Sri Lanka. It is a revered pilgrimage site for multiple religions: Buddhists believe the footprint at the summit is the Buddha's, Hindus attribute it to Lord Shiva, and Muslims and Christians to Adam or Saint Thomas. The pilgrimage season, particularly busy during the full moon in April, sees climbers ascending thousands of steps, often starting at night to reach the summit by dawn. The climb offers breathtaking views and a unique sunrise shadow phenomenon. The area is part of the Peak Wilderness Sanctuary, noted for its rich biodiversity.
